About the Charity Fund

The Charity was founded in 1972. Our objective is to take 150 local children in need on an annual outing by taxi, which they might not otherwise get.

We hold an annual Easter Party at St Thomas Moore School in Westcliff for sick and disabled children and their families and/or carers.

By invitation of the London Taxi Drivers Charity fund, we take 50 children to an annual event at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, which is attended by various Celebrities from stage, television and the music industry.

We have our own minibus which we use for various other local events e.g. the airport, fire station and police station

Fundraising Events

Throughout the year we hold many fundraising events which include; high street mile of coins collection, quiz nights and tombolas. We also give talks to clubs, schools, and various organisations free of charge, although we do ask for a small donation.

How to Help

Sponsor a child for £30 for the day to cover dinner, drinks, pocket money and a goodie bag, or support other events by a cash donation of your choice. Take a collection box for you club or workplace or donate tombola prizes and/or toys or anything for a child aged 5-9. You could even hold your own event and donate the proceeds to the charity, volunteer at one of our events or ask your school to get involved.

Although our events are very succesful, we still need your help to reach our annual target of £15,000. For further details, please contact our general secretary on 01702 524749 or drop us an email. We thank you for any support you have given us now or in the future.
